“THE PUPPETEERS” is a documentary that tells the story of the world’s most famous family of puppeteers, the Ferrari Family. It is an 55 minute film is narrated by Ernest Borgnine and comprised of interviews, performances, a museum, archive material and newspapers, family video and photos, and Bernardo Bertolucci’s film “1900”. There is also an interview with the world renowned director, Bernardo Bertolucci. Interviews take place in various locations around Parma, Italy. Locations include the world famous Teatro Regio in Parma, the Auditorium designed by Renzo Piano, and the Ferrari family studio where they create their puppets.. Both the subject matter and the incredible quantity of historic material, (video, photographic and printed material), as well as the vast collection of puppets, and the voice for the narration from the famous american actor “Ernest Borgnine” makes this film unique and original. The support of the museum established and dedicated to Giordano Ferrari, Il Castello Dei Burattini, and the availability of the mayors of Parma and Noceto was fundamental to the making of this film. The objective of this film is to present it in various international film festivals with the eventual goal of finding a distributor to manage TV and DVD sales worldwide.
